Trazodone falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Passion Flower interacts with.

Theoretically, passion flower might decrease the effects of CYP3A4 substrates.
In vitro research suggests that passion flower can induce CYP3A4 enzymes, albeit to a much lower degree than rifampin, a known CYP3A4 inducer.

Here's the gist for trazodone and passion flower. Your body uses a liver enzyme called CYP3A4 to break trazodone down. Lab studies suggest passion flower might gently nudge that enzyme to work a little faster. In theory, that could clear trazodone out slightly quicker and make it a touch less effective, so you might notice a bit less help with mood or sleep.

Honestly, this is very weak, test-tube evidence, and the effect seen was far smaller than known strong enzyme boosters. So for most people this isn't a big concern. Just keep in mind both can be calming, so watch for extra drowsiness or grogginess. Before combining them, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor.
