Dextromethorphan HBr falls under SEROTONERGIC DRUGS — the group Psilocybin interacts with.

Theoretically, combining psilocybin with serotonergic drugs might cause additive serotonergic effects.
Psilocybin has serotonin 2A (5-HT2A) receptor agonist activity. Theoretically, combining serotonergic drugs with psilocybin might increase the risk of serotonergic side effects, including serotonin syndrome. However, this interaction has not been reported in humans.

Here's the gist: dextromethorphan, the cough suppressant in products like Vicks Formula 44, gently raises serotonin activity in your brain. Psilocybin (which your body turns into psilocin) also acts on serotonin pathways. Stack those two together and, in theory, the serotonin effects could add up.

I want to be honest about the evidence though. This is a theoretical concern based on how both work, and it hasn't actually been reported in people taking them together. If it did matter, the worry would be too much serotonin: things like agitation, a racing heart, sweating, shivering, muscle twitching, or confusion. Keep in mind psilocybin isn't an approved supplement and is illegal in most places. Please talk with your pharmacist or doctor before mixing anything that affects your brain chemistry.
