Aripiprazole falls under SEROTONERGIC DRUGS — the group Psilocybin interacts with.

Theoretically, combining psilocybin with serotonergic drugs might cause additive serotonergic effects.
Psilocybin has serotonin 2A (5-HT2A) receptor agonist activity. Theoretically, combining serotonergic drugs with psilocybin might increase the risk of serotonergic side effects, including serotonin syndrome. However, this interaction has not been reported in humans.

Here's the thing worth knowing if you're on aripiprazole (Abilify) and curious about psilocybin. Both touch the brain's serotonin system. Psilocybin (really its active form, psilocin) switches on a serotonin receptor called 5-HT2A, while aripiprazole works partly through serotonin and dopamine signaling too. On paper, stacking two serotonin-active substances could raise the odds of too much serotonin activity, which at the extreme is called serotonin syndrome (agitation, racing heart, sweating, shakiness, confusion).

I want to be honest about the strength here: this is a theoretical concern based on how the drugs work, not something actually reported in people taking them together. There's also a separate wrinkle, since aripiprazole may blunt or alter a psychedelic's effects. Either way, psilocybin isn't an approved supplement, so please talk with your doctor or pharmacist before mixing anything with your aripiprazole.
