Amoxapine falls under SEROTONERGIC DRUGS — the group Psilocybin interacts with.

Theoretically, combining psilocybin with serotonergic drugs might cause additive serotonergic effects.
Psilocybin has serotonin 2A (5-HT2A) receptor agonist activity. Theoretically, combining serotonergic drugs with psilocybin might increase the risk of serotonergic side effects, including serotonin syndrome. However, this interaction has not been reported in humans.

Here's the concern when psilocybin meets amoxapine. Both can push up serotonin activity in the brain. Amoxapine is a tricyclic antidepressant that raises serotonin (among other chemicals), and psilocybin's active form, psilocin, directly stimulates certain serotonin receptors. Stack them together and you could, in theory, get too much serotonin signaling at once.

That overlap raises the risk of what we call serotonin syndrome: agitation, sweating, a racing heart, tremor, muscle twitching, or confusion. I'll be honest, this is based on how the two work on paper, and it hasn't actually been reported in people. Still, amoxapine carries its own seizure and heart-rhythm risks, so I wouldn't take a chance. Please talk with your doctor or pharmacist before combining anything like this.
