Psilocybin + Linezolid
Linezolid brand names: Zyvox, Zyvox Injection.
Psilocybin has a moderate interaction with Linezolid. Theoretically, combining psilocybin with serotonergic drugs might cause additive serotonergic effects.

Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
SEROTONERGIC DRUGS
Why this applies to Linezolid
Linezolid falls under SEROTONERGIC DRUGS — the group Psilocybin interacts with.
Psilocybin has serotonin 2A (5-HT2A) receptor agonist activity. Theoretically, combining serotonergic drugs with psilocybin might increase the risk of serotonergic side effects, including serotonin syndrome. However, this interaction has not been reported in humans.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the thing about linezolid that makes this pairing worth a second look: besides being an antibiotic, it's also a mild MAO inhibitor, which means it lets serotonin build up in your brain. Psilocybin (really its active form, psilocin) directly stimulates serotonin receptors. Put those two together and you stack serotonin activity on top of serotonin activity, which in theory could push you toward serotonin syndrome, things like agitation, a racing heart, sweating, shivering, muscle twitching, confusion, or a high fever.
I want to be honest: this is a theoretical concern based on how the two work, and it hasn't actually been reported in people. But because linezolid is known for serotonin trouble, I wouldn't take any chances. Please run this by your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.

Clinically significant. Avoid the combination, or use only under close professional supervision.
Usually worth avoiding or managing — may need monitoring, a dose change, or timing apart.
Generally not serious. Be aware of it and mention it to your pharmacist.

These are real questions from readers, answered by the pharmacists at HelloPharmacist — written by a person, not generated from a database. Each one covers Psilocybin or Linezolid, not necessarily both, but if one is close to what you were about to ask it will usually go further than a database entry can:

See Every Supplement That Interacts With Linezolid
This page covers Psilocybin only. If you take other supplements — a multivitamin, a sleep aid, something for joints — the Linezolid page lists 65 supplements it has a documented interaction with, worst first, each one explained.
The most serious there right now: Activated Charcoal (major), Lithium (major), 5-htp (moderate), Acetyl-l-carnitine (moderate) and Ayahuasca (moderate).
By severity: 2 major · 51 moderate · 12 minor.
From our pharmacist’s overview on the Linezolid page
“Linezolid (Zyvox) fights serious infections, but it also blocks an enzyme called monoamine oxidase, which is why I treat this page with real respect. Twenty of the 65 supplements here raise serotonin, and stacking them on linezolid risks serotonin syndrome, a dangerous overload of that chemical.”

About Psilocybin
What is Psilocybin?
- Depression
- Anxiety (including in serious illness)
- Substance use disorders
- Post-traumatic stress
- Spiritual or psychological exploration
Psilocybin is a powerful psychedelic compound found in certain mushrooms and is being studied for hard-to-treat depression, anxiety, and addiction, but it is still investigational and not an approved supplement. It is illegal in most places, can cause intense and unpredictable mental effects, and should never be used outside of a supervised clinical setting.
About Linezolid
What Is Linezolid Used For?
Brand names: Zyvox, Zyvox Injection
Linezolid — available as Zyvox and in generic forms — is used to treat infections caused by certain drug-resistant Gram-positive bacteria. It is approved for adults and children for nosocomial pneumonia (hospital-acquired lung infection), community-acquired pneumonia, complicated skin and skin structure infections (including diabetic foot infections, but only when bone infection is not also present), uncomplicated skin and skin structure infections, and vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus faecium infections.
It is important to know that linezolid does not work against Gram-negative bacteria. If a Gram-negative infection is also present or suspected, a separate antibiotic must be started right away. Linezolid should only be used for infections that are confirmed or strongly suspected to be caused by bacteria, to help prevent antibiotic resistance.

Linezolid Is Linked to Lower Levels of 7 Nutrients
Natural Medicines records Linezolid as a medicine that can lower these. This is not an interaction with Psilocybin — it is a separate effect of the medicine, and it is a reason some people are advised to supplement rather than to avoid one:
