STIMULANT DRUGS
Why this applies to Aspirin, Caffeine, Dover's Pwd
Aspirin, Caffeine, Dover's Pwd falls under STIMULANT DRUGS — the group Psilocybin interacts with.
Due to the central nervous system (CNS) stimulant effects of psilocybin, concomitant use with stimulant drugs may increase the risk of adverse effects.
Interaction has not been documented in well-controlled studies, however, the interaction has been demonstrated in some small human studies or in controlled animal studies in conjunction with multiple case reports..
The product you're asking about is a combination of aspirin, caffeine, and Dover's powder (which contains ipecac and a small amount of opium). The piece that matters here is the caffeine, since it's a stimulant for your brain and nervous system. Psilocybin also revs up the nervous system, so on paper, layering the two could stack their stimulating effects.
In real terms, that might mean a faster or pounding heartbeat, jitteriness, anxiety, restlessness, or trouble sleeping. I'll be honest with you though, this is a theoretical concern based on how the drugs work, not from strong studies. Keep in mind psilocybin isn't legal or approved for use outside research settings. If you're considering anything like this, please talk it through with your doctor or pharmacist first.
