Putting two stimulants together is the heart of the concern here. Stacking them can push your blood pressure higher and make your heart race or pound, and in worst-case reports this has been tied to serious problems like dangerous spikes in blood pressure, irregular heartbeat, and even stroke.

To be honest, this warning leans on theory and scattered case reports rather than strong trials, so the exact risk is hard to pin down. But ephedra is banned in U.S. supplements for good reason. Please don't combine these on your own. Talk with your pharmacist or doctor about safer options.

Here's the thing about this particular medicine: it already contains caffeine, which is a stimulant in its own right. Ephedra (ma huang) is also a powerful stimulant. When you stack two stimulants together, their effects don't just add up, they can pile on top of each other in a way that gets risky. We're talking about a faster, pounding heartbeat, jitteriness, trouble sleeping, a spike in blood pressure, and in the worst cases serious events like heart attack, stroke, or seizures.

I'll be honest, the evidence here is mostly anecdotal (real-world reports rather than strong studies), but the harm potential is high enough that I take it seriously. Ephedra is also banned in U.S. supplements for these very reasons. Please don't combine them, and check with your pharmacist or doctor about safer choices.

Here's the thing to know about this combo product, which mixes aspirin, caffeine, and Dover's powder (an old-style remedy with ipecac and opium). The caffeine piece is the one tied to ephedra. Your liver clears caffeine using an enzyme called CYP1A2, and some animal studies hint that ephedra may rev that enzyme up. In theory, that could clear caffeine out a bit faster, so you might feel a little less of its usual lift, like reduced alertness.

I'll be honest, this is weak, lab-and-animal-level evidence, not something proven in people. The bigger worry is that ephedra and caffeine are both stimulants, so stacking them can spike your heart rate and blood pressure. Ephedra is banned here anyway, so please talk with your pharmacist or doctor before mixing anything like this.
