ANTIDIABETES DRUGS
Why this applies to Dasiglucagon Hydrochloride
Dasiglucagon Hydrochloride falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Pu-erh Tea interacts with.
Pu-erh tea contains caffeine. Reports claim that caffeine might increase or decrease blood sugar levels.
Interaction has been demonstrated in animal or in lab research but has been shown not to occur in humans..
Here's the thing to keep in perspective: dasiglucagon (Zegalogue) is your emergency rescue medicine for severe low blood sugar. You'd only ever use it in a crisis, when you can't safely eat or drink. So sipping pu-erh tea on a normal day is in a completely different situation than reaching for this injection during an emergency.
The interaction on file is mostly theoretical and based on weak evidence. The idea is that the caffeine in pu-erh might nudge blood sugar up or down a little, which could in theory affect overall diabetes control. But it shouldn't change how your rescue injection works when you need it. Enjoying a cup of tea is unlikely to matter here. If you have questions about your diabetes routine, your pharmacist or doctor can walk through it with you.
