Here's the gist: bisoprolol is a beta blocker that already works to bring your blood pressure and heart rate down. Rhodiola, at least in lab and animal studies, seems to lower blood pressure too. So the concern is simple. Stacking the two could push your blood pressure a little lower than you want, leaving you feeling lightheaded, dizzy, tired, or faint, especially when you stand up quickly.

I want to be honest about how soft this evidence is. It comes from test tube and animal research, not from people, so it's more of a theoretical heads-up than a proven problem. Bisoprolol isn't a prodrug, so Rhodiola doesn't change how it's activated. Still, if you'd like to try Rhodiola, check with your pharmacist or doctor first and keep an eye on your blood pressure readings.
