Rhodiola + Levamlodipine
Levamlodipine brand name: Conjupri.
Levamlodipine falls into 2 drug categories that Rhodiola can interact with; the most serious is rated moderate. Theoretically, taking rhodiola with antihypertensive drugs might increase the risk of hypotension.

These two interact in 2 distinct ways. Each one is explained separately below.
Why Are There 2 Interactions?
Rhodiola interacts with whole categories of medication. Levamlodipine falls into 2 of those categories, so it can interact with Rhodiola in 2 different ways. We’ve listed each one below — your overall risk is driven by the most serious of them (Moderate).
ANTIHYPERTENSIVE DRUGS
1 of 2Why this applies to Levamlodipine
Levamlodipine falls under ANTIHYPERTENSIVE DRUGS — the group Rhodiola interacts with.
In vitro and animal research shows that rhodiola extract inhibits angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) and might lower blood pressure.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Levamlodipine is a calcium channel blocker that relaxes your blood vessels to bring blood pressure down. Rhodiola, at least in lab and animal studies, seems to have a mild blood-pressure-lowering effect of its own. So in theory, combining the two could push your numbers a little lower than expected.
If that happened, you might feel lightheaded, dizzy, unusually tired, or notice a head-rush when you stand up quickly. I want to be honest though: this concern comes from test-tube and animal research only, not from studies in people, so it's far from proven. Many folks tolerate both just fine. Still, if you'd like to try Rhodiola, mention it to your pharmacist or doctor first, and keep an eye on your blood pressure when you start.

CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES
2 of 2Levamlodipine also falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES.
In vitro research shows that rhodiola inhibits CYP3A4. This effect is highly variable and appears to be dependent on the rhodiola product studied. However, a clinical study in healthy young males found that taking rhodiola extract 290 mg daily for 14 days does not inhibit the metabolism of midazolam, a CYP3A4 substrate.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the basic idea: your body uses an enzyme called CYP3A4 to break down levamlodipine (Conjupri), the blood pressure medicine. In lab dishes, rhodiola can slow that enzyme down a bit. If that happened in real life, more levamlodipine could hang around, which in theory might mean a stronger blood-pressure-lowering effect or side effects like swollen ankles, dizziness, flushing, or feeling lightheaded.
That said, the real-world evidence here is reassuring. A study in healthy men found rhodiola did not actually change how the body cleared another CYP3A4 drug. This interaction is rated minor and is mostly theoretical. It's still worth a quick mention to your pharmacist or doctor, especially if you notice extra dizziness, but you don't need to panic about it.

About Rhodiola
What is Rhodiola?
- Fatigue and low energy
- Stress and coping (adaptogen)
- Mental performance and focus
- Mild depression
- Physical and exercise performance
Rhodiola is an herb traditionally used to fight fatigue and help the body cope with stress. Some small studies suggest it may modestly reduce fatigue and improve mood, but the evidence is limited and not strong. It is generally well tolerated for short-term use, but talk to your pharmacist or doctor before trying it, and avoid it during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Natural Medicines records Levamlodipine as a medicine that can lower these. This is not an interaction with Rhodiola — it is a separate effect of the medicine, and it is a reason some people are advised to supplement rather than to avoid one:
