Schizonepeta + Telmisartan, Amlodipine
Telmisartan, Amlodipine brand name: Twynsta.
Schizonepeta has a moderate interaction with Telmisartan, Amlodipine. Animal research suggests that schizonepetin, a monoterpene constituent of schizonepeta, induces cytochrome P450 (CYP) 3A4.

Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES
Why this applies to Telmisartan, Amlodipine
Telmisartan, Amlodipine falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Schizonepeta interacts with.
Some substrates of CYP3A4 include lovastatin (Mevacor), ketoconazole (Nizoral), itraconazole (Sporanox), fexofenadine (Allegra), triazolam (Halcion), and numerous others.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Twynsta combines two blood pressure medicines. The amlodipine half is partly broken down by a liver enzyme called CYP3A4. There's a theory, based only on early animal studies, that schizonepeta may speed up that enzyme. If that happened in people, your body could clear amlodipine a little faster, which might make it work less well and let your blood pressure creep back up.
I want to be honest about how thin the evidence is here. This is lab and animal data, not human studies, so it's far from proven, and it likely matters more with concentrated supplement doses than a casual amount. Still, if you take Twynsta and want to try schizonepeta, check with your pharmacist or doctor first and keep an eye on your blood pressure readings.
