Dr. Brian Staiger explains PharmD, Clinical Pharmacist

Here's the thing to keep in mind with a combo cold product like Super Cold Tabs. One of its ingredients, phenylephrine, is a decongestant that mildly stimulates your system, and it can nudge up your heart rate and blood pressure. Securinega suffruticosa contains an alkaloid called securinine that revs up the nervous system too. Stacking two stimulating things together could, in theory, add up and raise the chance of effects like a racing or pounding heart, jitteriness, higher blood pressure, or trouble sleeping.

I'll be honest: this concern is theoretical, based on how securinine behaves in animal studies, not on real patient reports. Still, this plant isn't a safe, well-studied supplement to begin with. Please check with your pharmacist or doctor before pairing them.
