Securinega Suffruticosa and Regorafenib

We checked these two against our interaction database. Here is what we found.

No Known Interaction Found

We did not find a documented interaction between Regorafenib and Securinega Suffruticosa in our sources. This does not guarantee that the combination is completely free of risk — there is often limited research on supplements and herbal products, especially around drug interactions.

If you decide to take both, the practical routine is simple: add one new thing at a time and note the date you started it. If the combination is going to disagree with you, it usually shows in the first days to a couple of weeks — and a start date turns “I’ve been feeling off” into something a pharmacist can actually work with. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own.

Always talk with your pharmacist or doctor before making changes to your medications or supplements, particularly if you take several medications or have an ongoing health condition.

How we checked

Why No Interaction Is Listed for Regorafenib

Interactions in our licensed database are recorded against drug classes, not just single drug names. Regorafenib is filed under 2 classifications — cytochrome p450 3a4 (cyp3a4) substrates, oral drugs. Securinega Suffruticosa has documented interactions with 1 drug class — the most serious being stimulant drugs (moderate) — and none of Regorafenib’s classifications are among them.

Classification data comes from our licensed Natural Medicines dataset. A medication can belong to classes beyond those recorded there, so this describes how the check was run — it is not a safety guarantee.

“Regorafenib (Stivarga) is a targeted oral cancer therapy, and with a drug like this the goal is keeping its blood level inside a fairly tight window, so the 138 supplements and herbs on this page deserve real respect. Nearly all of them, 121 in total, can shift how the liver enzyme CYP3A4 processes the drug, nudging its level up or down.”

About Securinega Suffruticosa

What is Securinega Suffruticosa?

  • Nerve and muscle weakness
  • Fatigue and low energy
  • Nerve-related conditions in traditional medicine
  • Childhood paralysis (historical traditional use)
  • General tonic

Securinega suffruticosa is a shrub used in traditional East Asian medicine, best known for an alkaloid called securinine that strongly stimulates the nervous system. Because securinine is powerful and can cause seizures and serious toxicity, this plant is not a safe or well-studied dietary supplement, and it should not be used for self-treatment. Talk to a doctor or pharmacist before considering anything containing this plant.

Securinega suffruticosa · Phyllanthaceae · Leaves, twigs, and aerial parts (roots in some traditional preparations) · Dried herb decoction, tinctures, and isolated alkaloid extracts (mainly used in research settings)

An interaction check asks whether these two react with each other — it does not ask whether Securinega Suffruticosa is a good idea for someone in your situation. Here is what our Securinega Suffruticosa record says about it on its own.

Securinega Suffruticosa: dosing

There is no established, standardized safe dose of Securinega suffruticosa for use as a supplement. The plant's alkaloid content can vary, and the active compound securinine has a narrow margin between any effect and toxic effects.Because of these safety concerns, we cannot recommend a specific amount.
