It commonly causes drowsiness, grogginess, dry mouth, and that heavy, sleepy feeling, especially when you first start it or after a dose increase. Shepherd's purse has traditionally been linked with mild sedative or calming effects, so the concern is simply that the two together could leave you feeling more tired or foggy than either one alone.
