Here's the thing to keep in mind with this combo: your medicine contains amobarbital, a barbiturate that calms the central nervous system. It can make you drowsy, slow your breathing, and lower your alertness. Shepherd's purse has been reported to have some mild sedative or relaxing qualities, so on paper the worry is that the two together could add up and leave you more groggy, lightheaded, or sleepy than expected.

I want to be honest, though: this concern is theoretical, based on how these plants are thought to behave rather than real human studies. It's a flag worth knowing, not a reason to panic. Since amobarbital is already a strong sedative, please check with your pharmacist or doctor before pairing it with shepherd's purse.
