This combination product (Colrex) already has two ingredients that can make you sleepy: the antihistamine chlorpheniramine and the opioid codeine. Shepherd's purse has been reported to have some calming or sedative-type effects of its own. So the concern here is simple: stacking them together could add up and leave you feeling extra drowsy, foggy, dizzy, or slow to react.

I want to be honest about how strong this warning is. It's theoretical, based on how these things behave rather than solid human studies, so it may not be a big deal for everyone. Still, go easy until you know how you feel, skip driving, and have a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.
