Here's the gist with shepherd's purse and nalbuphine (Nubain). Nalbuphine already works in your brain to dull pain, and one of its known effects is making you drowsy, calm, or a little dizzy. Shepherd's purse has traditionally been linked with mild sedative-type effects, so the concern is that stacking the two together could add up and leave you more sleepy or out of it than expected.

I want to be honest, though: this is a theoretical caution based on how these things might behave, not solid human studies. It's unlikely to be a big deal for most people, but since nalbuphine is given for real pain (often around procedures), just mention any herbal products you take to your pharmacist or doctor so they can keep an eye on the drowsiness piece.

What Is Nalbuphine Injection Used For?

Brand name: Nubain

Nalbuphine Hydrochloride Injection is used to manage pain severe enough to require an opioid when other pain treatments have not worked or cannot be tolerated. It is only appropriate when non-opioid options are inadequate.

It can also be used as part of balanced anesthesia during surgery, for pain relief before and after operations, and for pain management during labor and delivery.
