Aminoglutethimide falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) INDUCERS — the group Tansy Ragwort interacts with.

Theoretically, CYP3A4 inducers might increase the risk of adverse effects from the pyrrolizidine alkaloid (PA) constituents in tansy ragwort.
Tansy ragwort contains PAs. PAs are substrates of CYP3A4. Theoretically, drugs that induce CYP3A4 might increase the conversion of PAs to toxic metabolites.

First things first: tansy ragwort really shouldn't be taken internally at all. It contains pyrrolizidine alkaloids, which can seriously harm the liver even on their own. So no matter what medication you're on, this is a plant to steer clear of.

Here's the specific concern with aminoglutethimide (Cytadren). This drug speeds up a liver enzyme called CYP3A4. That same enzyme turns the alkaloids in tansy ragwort into toxic byproducts. So in theory, aminoglutethimide could ramp up that conversion and increase the liver damage risk. I'll be honest, this is a theoretical worry based on lab work, not real patient cases, so I won't overstate it. But since tansy ragwort offers no proven benefit and aminoglutethimide already needs careful monitoring, please don't combine them without talking to your doctor or pharmacist first.
