Rucaparib Camsylate falls under CYTOCHROME P450 2D6 (CYP2D6) SUBSTRATES — the group Terminalia interacts with.

Theoretically, use of Terminalia arjuna may increase the levels and clinical effects of CYP2D6 substrates.
In vitro research shows that Terminalia arjuna extract inhibits CYP2D6 enzymes and reduces CYP2D6 substrate metabolism.

Here's the gist with Rubraca (rucaparib) and Terminalia. Your body uses an enzyme called CYP2D6 to help process rucaparib. Lab research (test tube only, not people yet) suggests Terminalia arjuna may slow that enzyme down. In theory, that could let a bit more rucaparib build up in your system, which might mean stronger effects and a higher chance of side effects like nausea, fatigue, low blood counts, or changes in liver tests.

I want to be honest: this is a theoretical concern based only on early lab data, so we don't know how much (if at all) it matters in real life. Still, since this is serious cancer therapy, please don't start Terminalia without first checking with your oncologist or pharmacist.

Terminalia is a group of traditional Ayurvedic tree species (most notably Terminalia arjuna) used for heart, digestive, and general wellness purposes. Some small studies suggest possible benefits for heart and cholesterol health, but the evidence is limited and not strong enough to recommend it as a treatment. About Rucaparib

What Is Rucaparib Used For?

Brand name: Rubraca

Rubraca (rucaparib) is used for two types of cancer in adults who carry a harmful BRCA gene mutation (either inherited or found in the tumor). First, it is used as maintenance treatment — meaning ongoing treatment to keep cancer from coming back — in people with recurrent epithelial ovarian cancer, fallopian tube cancer, or primary peritoneal cancer who responded (fully or partially) to platinum-based chemotherapy.

Second, Rubraca treats metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (advanced prostate cancer that has stopped responding to hormone-lowering treatment) in adults who have already received androgen receptor-directed therapy. Patients must be tested with an FDA-approved companion diagnostic to confirm the BRCA mutation before starting Rubraca for prostate cancer.
