Vincristine falls under SEIZURE THRESHOLD LOWERING DRUGS — the group Thuja interacts with.

Thuja products can contains significant amounts of thujone, a neurotoxin. Theoretically, patients taking drugs that lower the seizure threshold might be at greater risk of seizure if they also take thuja. Advise patients taking these drugs to avoid thuja products. Some drugs that lower the seizure threshold include anesthetics (propofol, others), antiarrhythmics (mexiletine), antibiotics (amphotericin, penicillin, cephalosporins, imipenem), antidepressants (bupropion, others), antihistamines (cyproheptadine, others), immunosuppressants (cyclosporine), narcotics (fentanyl, others), stimulants (methylphenidate), theophylline, and others.

Here's the simple version: Thuja contains thujone, a compound that can irritate the nervous system and, in larger amounts, may make seizures more likely. Vincristine is a chemotherapy drug that already affects the nerves on its own. One of its best-known side effects is nerve trouble, including numbness, tingling, weakness, and in some cases seizures. Stacking thuja on top could, in theory, add to that nervous-system stress.

I'll be honest, this concern is theoretical and based mostly on anecdotal reports, not strong studies. Still, since you're already on a powerful chemo drug, I'd play it safe and skip thuja products. Please run any supplement past your oncology team or pharmacist first, since they're coordinating your whole treatment.

Thuja, also called northern white cedar or arborvitae, is a tree whose leaf and oil have a long history in folk and homeopathic medicine, especially for warts and immune support. Solid human evidence for these uses is very limited, and the undiluted oil contains thujone, which can be toxic. What Is Vincristine Injection Used For?

Vincristine Sulfate Injection is approved to treat acute leukemia. It is also used as part of combination chemotherapy regimens for Hodgkin's disease, non-Hodgkin's malignant lymphomas, rhabdomyosarcoma (a soft-tissue cancer), neuroblastoma (a cancer of nerve tissue), and Wilms' tumor (a kidney cancer in children).

Because it works best alongside other cancer medicines, vincristine is almost always given as part of a multi-drug treatment plan rather than on its own.
