Tadalafil falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Thunder God Vine interacts with.

Theoretically, thunder god vine might increase the levels and clinical effects of CYP3A4 substrates.
In vitro research shows that triptolide, a constituent of thunder god vine, inhibits CYP3A4 enzymes in human microsomes. This interaction has not been reported in humans.

Your body relies on an enzyme called CYP3A4 to clear tadalafil (Cialis) out of your system. In lab dish studies, a compound in Thunder God Vine called triptolide appears to slow that enzyme down. If that holds true in people, tadalafil could break down more slowly and build up a bit higher than usual, nudging up its effects and side effects like headache, flushing, a stuffy nose, back pain, dizziness, or a drop in blood pressure.

Here's the honest part: this is only theoretical, based on test-tube work, and it hasn't actually been reported in real patients. So I wouldn't panic. Still, since Thunder God Vine itself can be risky, please loop in your doctor or pharmacist before pairing these two so they can check it's safe for you.

What Is Tadalafil Used For?

Brand names: Cialis, Tadliq

Tadalafil tablets (including Cialis and generic tadalafil) are used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED), the symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH — an enlarged prostate), or both conditions together. When used with the drug finasteride to start BPH treatment, this combination is recommended for up to 26 weeks.

Adcirca, Alyq (tablets), and Tadliq (oral suspension) are indicated specifically for pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH — high blood pressure in the lungs), to improve the ability to exercise.
