Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
Oral Drugs
Why this applies to Amlodipine Benzoate
Amlodipine Benzoate falls under Oral Drugs — the group Thyroid Extract interacts with.
Well-controlled human studies have demonstrated the likely existence of this interaction.
Here the concern runs in one direction: your amlodipine could blunt how well the thyroid extract is absorbed, not the other way around. Thyroid hormones (T3 and T4) are picky about what shares their space in the gut, and taking other oral products too close together can lower how much hormone actually gets into your system.
With amlodipine the practical worry is timing, not danger. Amlodipine itself works fine, but if you swallow it at the same moment as your thyroid product, you may get a little less thyroid benefit, which over time could mean lingering tiredness, feeling cold, or sluggishness. An easy fix is to space them out. Many people take thyroid first thing on an empty stomach and other pills later. Please confirm the right schedule with your pharmacist or doctor.

About Thyroid Extract
What is Thyroid Extract?
- Hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid)
- Fatigue and low energy
- Weight management
- Sluggish metabolism
- General thyroid support
Thyroid extract supplements are made from dried animal thyroid gland and may contain real thyroid hormones (T3 and T4), but the amounts in over-the-counter products are not standardized and can be unpredictable. Self-treating a thyroid problem with these supplements can be risky, so always work with a doctor or pharmacist and use prescription thyroid medicine when treatment is needed.
About Amlodipine
What Is Amlodipine Used For?
Brand name: Katerzia
Amlodipine lowers high blood pressure (hypertension). Lowering blood pressure reduces the risk of strokes and heart attacks. It can be used alone or with other blood pressure or angina medicines.
It is also used for chronic stable angina, vasospastic angina (Prinzmetal's or variant angina), and angiographically documented coronary artery disease in patients without heart failure or an ejection fraction below 40%. The Sdamlo oral solution label lists the high blood pressure use for adults and children 6 years and older, and the coronary artery disease uses for adults.
