When you swallow thyroid extract and cyclobenzaprine close together, the cyclobenzaprine (or other things in your stomach) can get in the way and lessen how much thyroid hormone you take in. So the concern runs toward the thyroid product losing a bit of its punch, not the cyclobenzaprine building up or becoming dangerous.

A simple fix is spacing them out. Thyroid hormone works best on an empty stomach, so taking it first thing and waiting at least 30 to 60 minutes before your cyclobenzaprine and breakfast usually does the trick. This is a minor, well-documented timing issue, not a scary one. Still, since thyroid extract doses can be unpredictable, please loop in your doctor or pharmacist.

What Is Cyclobenzaprine Used For?

Brand names: Cyclobenzaprine, Flexeril, Cycloprine

Cyclobenzaprine tablets and extended-release capsules are used alongside rest and physical therapy to relieve muscle spasm caused by acute, painful musculoskeletal conditions — easing pain, tenderness, and limited movement. This use is intended for short-term treatment only (up to 2–3 weeks).

Tonmya, the sublingual (under-the-tongue) form of cyclobenzaprine, is separately indicated for the treatment of fibromyalgia in adults. It is not the same as the oral tablet or capsule formulations.
