Alteplase, tPA falls under ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS — the group Tree Turmeric interacts with.

Theoretically, tree turmeric might have additive effects when used with anticoagulant and antiplatelet drugs and increase the risk of bleeding.

Here's the thing about alteplase (Activase): it's a powerful clot-busting drug given through an IV in emergency settings like a stroke or heart attack. It's not something you take at home alongside a daily supplement, so this is really a hospital-level concern rather than an everyday combination. While you're receiving it, the medical team is already watching closely for bleeding, which is the main risk with this medicine.

The worry on file is theoretical. Lab and animal studies hint that berberine in tree turmeric may make platelets a little less sticky, which could in theory add to bleeding risk. This isn't proven in people. Still, it's smart to tell your care team about every supplement you take, especially before any procedure, so they have the full picture.
