Here's the piece to pay attention to with this combo product: the diphenhydramine in Alka Seltzer Plus Night Time is a sedating antihistamine, so it already makes you drowsy on its own. In animal studies, the berberine in tree turmeric showed some sedative effects of its own. Stacking the two could, in theory, add up and leave you feeling more groggy, foggy, or sleepy than you'd expect.

I'll be honest with you, this is based on lab and animal research, not solid human studies, so it's more of a 'be aware' than a 'this will definitely happen.' Tree turmeric doesn't change how aspirin or phenylpropanolamine work here. If you do try both, go easy, skip driving until you know how you feel, and check with your pharmacist first.

This combination product contains aspirin, which already thins your blood by keeping platelets from clumping together. Tree turmeric (mostly its berberine) seems to do a little of the same thing in lab and animal studies. Put them together and the worry is that they could add up and make bleeding a bit more likely.

In real life that might look like easier bruising, nosebleeds that take longer to stop, bleeding gums, or stomach upset. I want to be honest though: this concern comes from test tube and animal research, not solid human studies, so it's more of a theoretical caution than a proven problem. Still, if you take aspirin regularly, please check with your pharmacist or doctor before adding a tree turmeric or berberine supplement, especially if you're also on other blood thinners.
