Theoretically, taking tree turmeric along with antihypertensive drugs might have additive effects and increase the risk of hypotension.
Animal research suggests that berberine, a constituent of tree turmeric, can have hypotensive effects. Also, a meta-analysis of clinical research suggests that taking berberine in combination with amlodipine (Norvasc) can lower systolic and diastolic blood pressure when compared with taking amlodipine alone.

Here's the simple version: tree turmeric (mostly its berberine) may gently lower blood pressure on its own. Since bisoprolol is already working to bring your blood pressure and heart rate down, stacking the two could add up and push things a little too low.

If that happens, you might feel lightheaded, dizzy, unusually tired, or notice your heartbeat feeling slow, especially when you stand up quickly. I want to be honest about the evidence though: this concern comes mostly from animal studies and a small amount of human research with other blood pressure drugs, not bisoprolol directly. So it's a theoretical worry, not a proven one. Before adding tree turmeric, check with your pharmacist or doctor, and keep an eye on your blood pressure readings at home.

Here's the gist with bisoprolol and tree turmeric. The berberine in this supplement may slow down an enzyme called CYP2D6, which is one of the pathways your body uses to clear bisoprolol. If that pathway gets blocked, a little more bisoprolol can linger in your system, which could nudge its effects up a notch.

For a beta blocker, that might show up as a slower heart rate, lower blood pressure, dizziness, or feeling unusually tired. Good news: this is mostly theoretical and based on lab and early human data, so it isn't a guaranteed problem. Bisoprolol also leans heavily on the kidneys for clearance, which softens the concern. Still, if you want to try tree turmeric, check with your pharmacist or doctor first and keep an eye on how you feel.
