Theoretically, tree turmeric might have additive effects when used with anticoagulant and antiplatelet drugs and increase the risk of bleeding.

Here's the simple version: edoxaban (Savaysa) already thins your blood by blocking a clotting factor called factor Xa. Tree turmeric, through its main compound berberine, may make platelets a little less sticky on its own. Stack those two together and you could, in theory, tip the scales toward easier bruising or bleeding, things like nosebleeds, bleeding gums, or a cut that takes longer to stop.

I want to be honest about the strength of this one. The concern comes only from lab and animal studies, not from people taking both, so it's more of a caution than a proven problem. Still, since edoxaban is a blood thinner, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before adding a berberine supplement, and let them know if you notice any unusual bleeding.

About Edoxaban

What Is Edoxaban Used For?

Brand name: Savaysa

Edoxaban, sold as Savaysa, lowers the risk of stroke and systemic embolism (a clot that travels to other parts of the body) in people with nonvalvular atrial fibrillation, an irregular heartbeat not caused by a heart valve problem. It is not for people with good kidney function (creatinine clearance above 95 mL/min) because stroke risk was higher than with warfarin.

Savaysa also treats deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism (PE). It is started after 5 to 10 days of initial treatment with an injected or infused blood thinner.
