Metformin, Linagliptin falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Tree Turmeric interacts with.

Theoretically, tree turmeric, taken alone or in combination with milk thistle, might increase the risk of hypoglycemia in patients taking antidiabetes drugs.
Clinical research shows that taking a product containing tree turmeric and milk thistle extracts can lower blood glucose levels, glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c), and insulin resistance in patients with type 2 diabetes, including those on antidiabetic agents. Additionally, clinical research suggests that berberine, a constituent of tree turmeric, can lower blood glucose levels.

Jentadueto combines two diabetes medicines, metformin and linagliptin, that both work to bring your blood sugar down. The concern here isn't about your body breaking the drug down differently. It's simpler than that: tree turmeric (and its active ingredient, berberine) can lower blood sugar on its own. Stack that on top of your medication and the two effects can add up, pushing your sugar lower than you intend.

This is backed by decent human research, so it's worth taking seriously. Watch for signs of low blood sugar: shakiness, sweating, dizziness, headache, or feeling suddenly hungry or confused. The good news is this is manageable. Please loop in your pharmacist or doctor before adding tree turmeric so they can keep an eye on your numbers and adjust if needed. Don't stop or change your Jentadueto on your own.
