Pramlintide falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Tree Turmeric interacts with.

Theoretically, tree turmeric, taken alone or in combination with milk thistle, might increase the risk of hypoglycemia in patients taking antidiabetes drugs.
Clinical research shows that taking a product containing tree turmeric and milk thistle extracts can lower blood glucose levels, glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c), and insulin resistance in patients with type 2 diabetes, including those on antidiabetic agents. Additionally, clinical research suggests that berberine, a constituent of tree turmeric, can lower blood glucose levels.

Here's the thing to keep in mind: tree turmeric (mostly thanks to its berberine content) tends to lower blood sugar on its own. Pramlintide, your mealtime injection alongside insulin, is also working hard to keep your post-meal sugars down. Stack the two together and those blood-sugar-lowering effects can add up, which raises your odds of going too low.

Practically, that means more chances of hypoglycemia: shakiness, sweating, dizziness, a racing heart, or feeling confused or foggy. The good news is the research here is decent, and the fix is simple. Don't change anything on your own, but do let your doctor or pharmacist know if you'd like to try tree turmeric. They may want you checking your sugars a bit more closely or adjusting your insulin dose.

What Is Pramlintide Injection Used For?

Brand name: Symlin

SymlinPen (pramlintide) is used as an add-on treatment for adults with type 1 or type 2 diabetes who already use mealtime insulin but still haven't reached their target blood sugar levels — even with optimal insulin therapy.

It is not a replacement for insulin. It works alongside insulin, given right before major meals, to reduce the spike in blood sugar that happens after eating.
