Here's the gist: turkey tail mushroom might gently lower your blood sugar on its own. Since canagliflozin (Invokana) is already working to bring your sugar down, stacking the two together could, in theory, push your levels a little lower than expected. That might show up as shakiness, sweating, dizziness, or feeling unusually tired.

I want to be honest about the evidence though. This concern comes only from animal studies, not human research, so it's more theoretical than proven. Canagliflozin by itself rarely causes low blood sugar unless you also take insulin or a sulfonylurea. If you'd like to try turkey tail, just check in with your pharmacist or doctor first and keep an eye on your home readings.

Turkey tail is a woodland mushroom rich in polysaccharides like beta-glucans, and it is mainly used to support the immune system. What Is Canagliflozin Used For?

Brand name: Invokana

Invokana (canagliflozin) is used alongside diet and exercise to improve blood sugar control in adults and children aged 10 and older with type 2 diabetes. It is not for type 1 diabetes.

In adults with type 2 diabetes, Invokana is also used to lower the risk of heart attack, stroke, and cardiovascular death in those with established cardiovascular disease, and to reduce the risk of serious kidney complications — including end-stage kidney disease, cardiovascular death, and hospitalization for heart failure — in those with diabetic kidney disease and high levels of protein in the urine.
