Mephenytoin falls under CYTOCHROME P450 2C9 (CYP2C9) SUBSTRATES — the group Turkey Tail Mushroom interacts with.

Theoretically, the polysaccharide peptide (PSP) component of turkey tail mushroom might inhibit CYP2C9.
Laboratory research suggests that the PSP component of turkey tail mushroom dose-dependently inhibits CYP2C9. Theoretically, taking PSP with drugs metabolized by CYP2C9 might increase drug levels and the risk of adverse effects. However, this has not been reported in humans.

Here's the short version on pairing turkey tail mushroom with mephenytoin (Mesantoin). This is an older seizure medicine that your liver partly clears using an enzyme called CYP2C9. In lab studies, the PSP compound in turkey tail seems to slow that enzyme down. In theory, that could let mephenytoin build up a bit, which might mean more of its usual side effects like drowsiness, dizziness, unsteadiness, or feeling foggy.

I want to be honest, though: this is graded as a minor interaction, and it comes only from test-tube research. Nothing like this has actually been reported in people taking the two together. So I wouldn't be alarmed. Still, since seizure medicines need steady levels, it's worth a quick check with your pharmacist or doctor before adding the supplement.
