CNS DEPRESSANTS
Why this applies to Tasimelteon
Tasimelteon falls under CNS DEPRESSANTS — the group Wild Lettuce interacts with.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the simple version: both wild lettuce and tasimelteon (Hetlioz) can make you sleepy. Tasimelteon is a melatonin-like medicine that helps cue your body for sleep, and wild lettuce has been used traditionally for calming and rest. Put them together and the drowsy effects may stack up, so you could feel more groggy than usual, have trouble staying alert, or feel dizzy.
I want to be honest about how strong this concern is. It's theoretical, based on how these two work rather than on real studies in people, so it may not amount to much for everyone. Still, because tasimelteon is taken at bedtime anyway, added sedation is worth watching. Please check with your pharmacist or doctor before pairing them, and don't change your tasimelteon on your own.

About Wild Lettuce

- Muscle spasms
Wild lettuce is a traditional herb used mainly for sleep, anxiety, and pain, but solid human research supporting these uses is very limited.
