Studies report varying evidence on whether or not wild lettuce contains hyoscyamine, an anticholinergic drug. If it does, it appears to be in very low amounts. Nevertheless, there have been case reports of individuals consuming large amounts of wild lettuce experiencing anticholinergic-related side effects, such as constipation, dry mouth, dizziness, and sweating. Therefore, if you are already taking a drug with anticholinergic effects, you should be cautious about combining it with wild lettuce as the risk of side effects may be increased.

Here's the gist with clomipramine (Anafranil): this tricyclic antidepressant already carries a lot of anticholinergic baggage on its own. That's why so many people on it deal with dry mouth, constipation, blurry vision, dizziness, trouble urinating, and that foggy, overheated feeling. Wild lettuce may add a little of that same anticholinergic load on top, so stacking the two could make those side effects more noticeable.

Now, the evidence here is thin. It's unclear how much (if any) of the anticholinergic compound wild lettuce really contains, and the worrisome reports came from people taking large amounts. A casual amount likely won't do much, but since clomipramine is already a heavy hitter, run this combo by your pharmacist or doctor before adding wild lettuce.
