The evidence for these ingredients is mixed. L-glutamine is effective for sickle cell disease and possibly effective for HIV/AIDS-related wasting, postoperative recovery, and critical illness — but those aren't digestive conditions.
Among the probiotics, L. acidophilus, B. bifidum, and Saccharomyces boulardii are possibly effective for irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), and several show possible effectiveness for antibiotic-associated diarrhea and other specific conditions. For most of the other probiotics in this blend, the evidence available to us is insufficient to rate their effectiveness.

L-glutamine is rated likely safe in pregnancy and is generally well tolerated in healthy adults, though people with kidney or liver disease should use it only under medical supervision. Gastrointestinal side effects like bloating, constipation, diarrhea, flatulence, nausea, and vomiting have been reported, and rare cases of dizziness and headache have occurred.
The probiotic ingredients are generally well tolerated in healthy people; however, L. acidophilus, B. longum, B. bifidum, B. breve, and Saccharomyces boulardii carry a caution for those who are seriously ill or immune-compromised, as there have been rare reports of these organisms causing serious infections (bacteremia, sepsis) in critically ill patients. Minor gastrointestinal effects like bloating, flatulence, and abdominal discomfort have been reported uncommonly with probiotic use.
For pregnancy and breastfeeding, L. acidophilus and B. bifidum are rated possibly safe; data on the other probiotics is limited or not on file. Talk with your doctor or pharmacist before using this if you're pregnant, breastfeeding, critically ill, or immune-compromised.

Theoretically, taking Lactobacillus acidophilus with antibiotic drugs might decrease the effectiveness of L. acidophilus.
L. acidophilus preparations usually contain live and active organisms. Therefore, simultaneously taking antibiotics might kill a significant number of the organisms. Tell patients to separate administration of antibiotics and L. acidophilus preparations by at least two hours.
Bifidobacterium longum
Antibiotic Drugs
Theoretically, taking Bifidobacterium longum with antibiotic drugs might decrease the effectiveness of B. longum.
Since B. longum preparations usually contain live and active organisms, simultaneously taking antibiotics might kill a significant number of the organisms. Tell patients to separate administration of antibiotics and B. longum preparations by at least 2 hours.
Bifidobacterium bifidum
Antibiotic Drugs
Theoretically, taking Bifidobacterium. bifidum with antibiotic drugs might decrease the effectiveness of B. bifidum.
Since B. bifidum preparations usually contain live and active organisms, simultaneously taking antibiotics might kill a significant number of the organisms. Tell patients to separate administration of antibiotics and B. bifidum preparations by at least 2 hours.
Bifidobacterium brevis
Antibiotic Drugs
Theoretically, taking Bifidobacterium breve with antibiotic drugs might decrease the effectiveness of B. breve.
Since B. breve preparations usually contain live and active organisms, simultaneously taking antibiotics might kill a significant number of the organisms. Tell patients to separate administration of antibiotics and B. breve preparations by at least 2 hours.
L-Glutamine
Anticonvulsants
Theoretically, glutamine might antagonize the effects of anticonvulsant medications.
Glutamine is metabolized to the excitatory neurotransmitter glutamate. Glutamate might have antagonistic effects with anticonvulsant drugs. However, this interaction has not yet been reported in humans.
Saccharomyces boulardii
Antifungals
Theoretically, taking antifungals with Saccharomyces boulardii might decrease the effectiveness of Saccharomyces boulardii.
S. boulardii is a live yeast. Therefore, simultaneously taking antifungals might kill a significant number of the organisms.
