Probio-Lite Ingredients & Drug Interactions
What is this page for?
First and foremost: checking Probio-Lite against your medications. The heart of this page is the interaction checker and the full interaction report — how this product’s ingredients may interact with prescription and over-the-counter medicines you may be taking.
Around that, we add a pharmacist’s high-level view of the product as a whole — what’s inside, the evidence for its stated use, how transparent the label is, and what safety data exists — so you can see the full picture in one place. It’s educational information from our licensed clinical databases and the clinical staff at HelloPharmacist — not medical advice — and we don’t sell or endorse products. Our editorial policy

Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Low disclosure
Probio-Lite contains 9 active ingredients, all live probiotic bacteria: Bifidobacterium bifidum, Lactobacillus acidophilus, Bifidobacterium animalis lactis, Bifidobacterium longum, Ligilactobacillus salivarius, Lactiplantibacillus plantarum, Lacticaseibacillus rhamnosus, Limosilactobacillus fermentum, and Limosilactobacillus reuteri. These are beneficial microorganisms meant to support digestive and immune health.
The product also contains two inactive ingredients: cellulose and brown rice flour, which serve as fillers and binders.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
The evidence for Probio-Lite's probiotic strains varies by condition and strain. Lactobacillus acidophilus is possibly effective for irritable bowel syndrome, H. pylori infection, antibiotic-associated diarrhea, and bacterial vaginosis.
Lactiplantibacillus plantarum is possibly effective for atopic dermatitis (eczema), high cholesterol, ulcerative colitis, and the common cold. Limosilactobacillus reuteri is possibly effective for high cholesterol, colic, H. pylori, abdominal pain, and constipation.
Lacticaseibacillus rhamnosus and Bifidobacterium bifidum are possibly effective for atopic dermatitis and irritable bowel syndrome, respectively. For many other conditions—allergic rhinitis (hay fever), anxiety, cognitive decline, asthma, influenza, and vaginal yeast infections among them—the evidence in our data is insufficient to rate effectiveness.
Several ingredients have not been rated for effectiveness in any of the conditions we hold data on.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Most of these probiotic strains are generally well tolerated in healthy people. Gastrointestinal side effects—including bloating, flatulence, abdominal discomfort, diarrhea, nausea, and burping—can occur but are uncommon.
One case of vomiting and fever was reported in a child taking B. bifidum with L. acidophilus, though it's unclear whether the probiotics caused it. Rare cases of serious bloodstream infections (bacteremia and sepsis) have been reported with some probiotic species, particularly in very ill, immune-compromised, or premature infants; these cases appear to stem from bacteria moving from other parts of the body rather than direct harm from the product.
Anyone who is seriously ill, has a weakened immune system, or is immune-compromised should talk with their doctor before using Probio-Lite.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
If you take any antibiotic drug, check your exact medication with the search tool on this page before taking Probio-Lite. Antibiotics are Moderate-severity interactants—they can significantly reduce how well the probiotics work by killing the live organisms in the product.
Separating doses by a few hours is the usual recommendation.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFormula with limited ingredient disclosure with some supporting evidence for its stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
Probio-Lite is a multispecies probiotic that may help with irritable bowel syndrome, antibiotic-associated diarrhea, eczema, and a few other digestive or immune concerns, though evidence varies by strain and condition. If you take an antibiotic, separate it from this product—antibiotics can kill the live organisms.
Anyone with a weakened immune system, serious illness, or very young children should check with their doctor or pharmacist before starting it.
