Antihypertensive Drugs
Why this applies to Perindopril Erbumine
Perindopril Erbumine falls under Antihypertensive Drugs — the group American Hellebore interacts with.
Well-controlled human studies have demonstrated the likely existence of this interaction.
Here's the key thing to know: American hellebore is a genuinely toxic plant, and on its own it can sharply lower your blood pressure and slow your heart rate. Perindopril (Aceon) is already working hard to bring your blood pressure down. Put the two together and those effects stack on top of each other.
What that can look like in real life is feeling dizzy or lightheaded, fainting, an unusually slow or pounding heartbeat, or feeling weak and drowsy. Because hellebore can cause real harm even in small amounts, I'd steer clear of it entirely while you're on perindopril. Please don't start or stop anything on your own. Talk with your pharmacist or doctor first.

American Hellebore (Veratrum viride) is a highly poisonous plant whose root contains toxic alkaloids that can cause dangerous drops in heart rate and blood pressure, even in small amounts.
