Here's the simple version: Trandolapril (Mavik) already lowers your blood pressure by relaxing your blood vessels. American Hellebore does its own thing on top of that, dropping blood pressure and slowing the heart rate even in tiny amounts. Stack the two together and those effects can pile up.

That combination could leave you dizzy, lightheaded, weak, or faint, especially when you stand up, and your pulse could slow down too much. Keep in mind this plant is genuinely poisonous and is not a safe everyday supplement at all. This isn't a theoretical concern either, the heart and blood pressure effects are well documented. Please don't use any product containing it without first talking to your pharmacist or doctor.

About Trandolapril

What Is Trandolapril Used For?

Brand name: Mavik

Trandolapril tablets are used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). They can be used on their own or combined with other blood pressure medicines such as hydrochlorothiazide.

Trandolapril tablets are also used in stable patients who have reduced heart pumping function (left-ventricular systolic dysfunction) or heart failure that developed within the first few days after a heart attack. In Caucasian patients, trandolapril has been shown to lower the risk of cardiovascular death and reduce hospitalizations related to heart failure.
