Let me be blunt here: Angel's Trumpet is a poisonous plant, not a supplement, and it should not be taken at all. With that said, here is why it matters alongside pimozide. Angel's Trumpet is loaded with atropine and scopolamine, which are strong anticholinergic chemicals. Pimozide also carries its own anticholinergic activity, so stacking the two could pile up effects like a dry mouth, blurry vision, constipation, trouble urinating, fast heartbeat, and confusion. In older folks especially, that can tip into hallucinations or delirium.

This warning is theoretical, based on how the two work rather than reported cases, so I don't want to alarm you. But pimozide is already a heart-sensitive medication, so please don't combine it with this plant and talk to your doctor or pharmacist first.

What Is Pimozide Used For?

Pimozide tablets are used to suppress the motor tics (involuntary movements) and phonic tics (involuntary sounds or vocalizations) that occur in Tourette's Disorder. It is reserved for patients whose daily life or development is severely affected by these tics.

Pimozide is not a first-choice treatment, and it is not meant for tics that are only mildly bothersome or cosmetic in nature. It should only be considered when standard treatments have not worked well enough.
