Amlodipine, Celecoxib falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Ayahuasca interacts with.

Theoretically, ayahuasca might increase plasma concentrations of CYP3A4 substrates.
Ayahuasca contains beta-carboline alkaloids. In vitro research suggests that beta-carboline alkaloids competitively inhibit CYP3A4 enzymes. This effect has not been reported in humans.

Consensi combines two medicines: amlodipine (a blood pressure drug) and celecoxib (an anti-inflammatory). Both are cleared by a liver enzyme called CYP3A4. The beta-carboline compounds in ayahuasca have been shown in lab dish studies to slow down that same enzyme. If that happened in your body, both drugs could build up a bit higher than usual.

For amlodipine, more in your system could mean too much blood pressure lowering (dizziness, lightheadedness, swollen ankles, a flushed feeling). For celecoxib, higher levels could nudge up stomach or kidney side effects. That said, this has only been seen in test tubes, not in people, so it is a theoretical concern. Ayahuasca carries its own serious risks, so please check with your doctor or pharmacist before mixing anything.
