Estrogen falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Ayahuasca interacts with.

Theoretically, ayahuasca might increase plasma concentrations of CYP3A4 substrates.
Ayahuasca contains beta-carboline alkaloids. In vitro research suggests that beta-carboline alkaloids competitively inhibit CYP3A4 enzymes. This effect has not been reported in humans.

Here's the gist: your body relies on a liver enzyme called CYP3A4 to help clear estrogen. Lab studies hint that the beta-carboline compounds in ayahuasca (the part of the brew that acts like an MAOI) can slow that enzyme down. If estrogen gets cleared more slowly, a bit more could linger in your bloodstream, which may nudge up estrogen-related effects like breast tenderness, bloating, nausea, headaches, or mood changes.

I want to be honest about the strength here: this is only seen in test-tube research, not in real people, so it's theoretical and graded weak. Ayahuasca carries its own serious risks too. Please don't start or stop anything on your own. Have a quick chat with your doctor or pharmacist first.
