Ethinyl Estradiol, Norethindrone falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Ayahuasca interacts with.

Theoretically, ayahuasca might increase plasma concentrations of CYP3A4 substrates.
Ayahuasca contains beta-carboline alkaloids. In vitro research suggests that beta-carboline alkaloids competitively inhibit CYP3A4 enzymes. This effect has not been reported in humans.

Your birth control pill combines two hormones, ethinyl estradiol and norethindrone, and your body clears them partly through a liver enzyme called CYP3A4. In lab dishes, the beta-carboline compounds in ayahuasca (like harmine) have been shown to slow that same enzyme down. If that happened in a real person, the hormones could be broken down a little more slowly and build up, which might mean more of the usual estrogen-type side effects such as nausea, breast tenderness, headaches, or spotting.

Here's the honest part: this is only a theoretical concern based on test-tube work, and it has never actually been confirmed in people. The bigger reason to be cautious is that ayahuasca itself is a strong, risky psychoactive brew. Please loop in your doctor or pharmacist before mixing anything like this.
