Theoretically, Baikal skullcap may increase levels of drugs metabolized by CYP1A2 enzymes.
In vitro evidence suggests that constituents of Baikal skullcap inhibit the activity of CYP1A2. This effect has not been reported in humans.

Here's the gist for Librax (chlordiazepoxide with clidinium). Lab studies hint that compounds in Baikal skullcap may slow down a liver enzyme called CYP1A2, which helps clear the chlordiazepoxide (the benzodiazepine) part of this combo. If that enzyme works slower, the medicine could build up a bit, possibly making you feel more drowsy, dizzy, foggy, or unsteady on your feet than usual.

I want to keep this in perspective though. This is theoretical, seen only in test-tube studies and never confirmed in real people, so the actual risk may be small. Still, since drowsiness is already common with this drug, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before combining the two rather than guessing.

Preliminary clinical research has not identified clinically relevant sedation after use of Baikal skullcap; however, a thorough evaluation of safety outcomes has not been conducted.

Here's the gist with Librax (chlordiazepoxide plus clidinium). The chlordiazepoxide part is a benzodiazepine that calms brain activity by acting on GABA-A receptors. Lab and animal studies hint that Baikal skullcap may nudge those same GABA-A receptors, so in theory pairing them could add up to extra sedation. That might show up as more drowsiness, dizziness, foggy thinking, or feeling unsteady on your feet.

That said, this is a minor and unlikely concern. It rests on test-tube and animal data, and early human studies haven't shown meaningful added sleepiness. So I wouldn't lose sleep over it, but if you notice unusual grogginess, mention it to your pharmacist or doctor before mixing the two.

Chlordiazepoxide and clidinium capsules are used to help control both the physical and emotional factors involved in gastrointestinal (digestive) disorders. This includes use as add-on therapy for peptic ulcer, irritable bowel syndrome (also called irritable colon, spastic colon, or mucous colitis), and acute enterocolitis (sudden inflammation of the intestines).

Librax is one brand available in capsule form and is approved for the same set of gastrointestinal uses.
