This combination pill pairs conjugated estrogens (the hormone part) with meprobamate (a calming medicine). The concern here is really about the estrogen piece. In lab dish studies, Baikal skullcap seems to have some weak estrogen-like activity and may compete for the same estrogen receptors your body uses. In theory, large, concentrated amounts of the herb could nudge how well your hormone therapy works.

I want to be honest: this is theoretical and based only on test-tube research, not on real people, so I wouldn't lose sleep over it. Still, since you're taking it for menopause symptoms, watch for changes like returning hot flashes or unexpected spotting, and check with your pharmacist or doctor before adding the supplement.

Theoretically, Baikal skullcap might increase levels of drugs transported by P-glycoprotein.
In vitro and animal research suggests that baicalein, oroxylin A, and wogonin, constituents of Baikal skullcap, can inhibit P-glycoprotein. This effect has not been reported in humans.

Here's the gist for your PMB (a combo of conjugated estrogens and meprobamate, an older anti-anxiety medicine). Baikal skullcap contains plant compounds that, in lab and animal studies, can block a transporter called P-glycoprotein. This transporter helps move certain drugs out of your body. If it's slowed down, a little more of the medicine could stick around.

In theory, that might nudge up your levels of these medicines, possibly adding to effects like drowsiness, dizziness, breast tenderness, or nausea. But I want to be straight with you: this is only seen in test tubes and animals, not in people, and it's rated as minor. Still, since meprobamate is sedating and estrogens carry their own cautions, please run it by your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.
