Premique combines conjugated estrogens with the progestin medroxyprogesterone, and it's used to ease menopause symptoms like hot flashes. The concern here isn't about how your body breaks the medicine down. Instead, lab studies suggest the flavonoids in Baikal skullcap (especially baicalein) can act a little like estrogen and may compete at the same estrogen receptors your hormone therapy is meant to work on.

In theory, large supplement doses might blunt or muddle the benefit you're trying to get from Premique. I want to be honest though: this is based only on test-tube and lab data, not human studies, so we really don't know how much it matters in real life. To be safe, chat with your pharmacist or doctor before pairing them.

Theoretically, Baikal skullcap might increase levels of drugs transported by P-glycoprotein.
In vitro and animal research suggests that baicalein, oroxylin A, and wogonin, constituents of Baikal skullcap, can inhibit P-glycoprotein. This effect has not been reported in humans.

If you take Premique (conjugated estrogens plus medroxyprogesterone) for menopause symptoms, here's the gist. Baikal skullcap contains plant compounds that, in lab and animal studies, can block a transporter called P-glycoprotein. This transporter helps move certain hormones and drugs around the body. In theory, slowing it down could let a little more of your hormone medication build up.

Now for the reassuring part: this has only been seen in test tubes and animals, never in people, and it's rated a minor interaction. If it did matter, you might notice more of the usual estrogen-related effects like breast tenderness, bloating, or nausea. I wouldn't lose sleep over it, but mention the skullcap to your pharmacist or doctor so they can keep an eye on things.
