Here's the thing to know if you're asking about Baikal skullcap alongside nitroprusside. Nitroprusside is a very powerful IV blood pressure medicine, used in a hospital setting for hypertensive emergencies. It works fast and is carefully adjusted by a care team minute to minute. The concern on file is that one compound in skullcap (baicalein) appeared to lower blood pressure in animal studies, so in theory it could add to nitroprusside's effect and drop your pressure too far, causing dizziness, lightheadedness, or fainting.

Honestly, this is a theoretical worry based on lab and animal work, not strong human evidence. And since nitroprusside is given in the hospital under close monitoring, you're unlikely to be combining it with a supplement on your own. Still, always tell your care team about any herbs you take.
