These two interact in 3 distinct ways. Each one is explained separately below.
Why Are There 3 Interactions?
Brussels Sprout interacts with whole categories of medication. Acetaminophen, Caffeine, Isometheptene falls into 3 of those categories, so it can interact with Brussels Sprout in 3 different ways. We’ve listed each one below — your overall risk is driven by the most serious of them (Moderate).
CYTOCHROME P450 1A2 (CYP1A2) SUBSTRATES
1 of 3Why this applies to Acetaminophen, Caffeine, Isometheptene
Acetaminophen, Caffeine, Isometheptene falls under CYTOCHROME P450 1A2 (CYP1A2) SUBSTRATES — the group Brussels Sprout interacts with.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
The piece of Migralam this note is about is the caffeine, which your body clears largely through an enzyme called CYP1A2. The thinking here is that Brussels sprouts may gently speed up that enzyme, so caffeine could be broken down a little faster. In plain terms, the caffeine in your dose might wear off sooner or feel a bit weaker. None of these ingredients are prodrugs, so faster clearance simply means less effect, not more.
Honestly, I wouldn't lose sleep over this one. The evidence comes only from lab and animal research, and normal food amounts of Brussels sprouts are unlikely to change how your headache medicine works. If you eat large amounts often, just mention it to your pharmacist or doctor.

GLUCURONIDATED DRUGS
2 of 3Acetaminophen, Caffeine, Isometheptene also falls under GLUCURONIDATED DRUGS.
Interaction has not been documented in well-controlled studies, however, the interaction has been demonstrated in some small human studies or in controlled animal studies in conjunction with multiple case reports..
Here's the gist for Migralam, which combines acetaminophen, caffeine, and isometheptene for headaches. The acetaminophen part is mostly cleared by your liver through a process called glucuronidation. Eating a lot of Brussels sprouts (and cabbage) seems to gently speed up that pathway, so in theory your body could clear the acetaminophen a bit faster and you might get slightly less pain relief from it.
Honestly, this is on the mild end. The evidence is limited, and a normal helping of Brussels sprouts at dinner is very unlikely to make your headache medicine stop working. There's no need to avoid this healthy veggie. If you're using Migralam often and feel it isn't doing much, just mention it to your pharmacist or doctor.

ACETAMINOPHEN (Tylenol, others)
3 of 3Interaction has not been documented in well-controlled studies, however, the interaction has been demonstrated in some small human studies or in controlled animal studies in conjunction with multiple case reports..
Here's the practical picture with Migralam, which is a combo of acetaminophen, caffeine, and isometheptene used for headaches and migraines. The piece that matters here is the acetaminophen (Tylenol) part. Eating Brussels sprouts regularly seems to speed up how your body clears acetaminophen, mainly by boosting a process called glucuronidation. In studies, daily cabbage and Brussels sprouts lowered acetaminophen levels by up to about 16%.
So the realistic concern isn't more side effects, it's that the acetaminophen could be a little less effective, meaning your headache may not ease as well. This is a modest effect, and an occasional serving of sprouts is very unlikely to matter. If you eat them daily and notice weaker relief, mention it to your pharmacist or doctor before changing anything.

Brussels sprouts are a nutritious cruciferous vegetable rich in fiber, vitamin C, vitamin K, and plant compounds called glucosinolates.
