Here's the piece to pay attention to: this combination product contains pseudoephedrine, a decongestant that is itself a stimulant. Caffeine is also a stimulant, so stacking the two can add up. When you pile caffeine (coffee, tea, energy drinks, soda) on top of the pseudoephedrine, you may notice more of the jittery side effects, like a racing or pounding heart, feeling wired or anxious, shakiness, and trouble sleeping. Your blood pressure can also nudge upward.

This is mostly an additive, common-sense concern based on expert opinion, not a dangerous reaction, and the codeine side is unaffected here. Still, if you already feel restless or your heart is fluttering, ease up on the caffeine and check with your pharmacist or doctor before changing anything.
