Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
CONTRACEPTIVE DRUGS
Why this applies to Drospirenone
Drospirenone falls under CONTRACEPTIVE DRUGS — the group Caffeine interacts with.
Oral contraceptives decrease the rate of caffeine clearance by 40-65%.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here the direction is the reverse of what people usually expect. It isn't that caffeine changes your drospirenone birth control, it's that the hormones in your contraceptive can slow down how fast your body clears caffeine. Studies suggest oral contraceptives cut caffeine clearance by roughly 40 to 65 percent, so a cup of coffee may linger longer and hit a little harder than it used to.
In plain terms, you might feel more wired from the same amount you always drink, with things like jitteriness, a faster heartbeat, or trouble sleeping. This is rated minor, and it doesn't make your birth control any less effective. If caffeine seems to bother you more lately, just ease back on it and chat with your pharmacist.

About Caffeine
What is Caffeine?
- Mental alertness and reducing fatigue
- Improving athletic performance
- Headache and migraine relief
- Boosting focus and concentration
- Weight loss aid
Caffeine is a natural stimulant found in coffee, tea, and many other plants and products. In moderate amounts it can boost alertness and reduce tiredness for most healthy adults, but too much can cause jitteriness, a racing heart, and sleep problems. Pregnant women and people with heart conditions or anxiety should be especially careful and check with a doctor or pharmacist.

Drospirenone Is Linked to Lower Levels of 2 Nutrients
Natural Medicines records Drospirenone as a medicine that can lower these. This is not an interaction with Caffeine — it is a separate effect of the medicine, and it is a reason some people are advised to supplement rather than to avoid one:
