Flurbiprofen falls under PHOTOSENSITIZING DRUGS — the group Chlorophyllin interacts with.

Theoretically, concomitant use of chlorophyllin with photosensitizing drugs may have additive effects.
Chlorophyllin is a semi-synthetic derivative of chlorophyll. Chlorophyll has been reported to cause photosensitization. Orally, chlorophyll has also been associated with the development of pseudoporphyria in multiple case reports.

Here's the gist: flurbiprofen, like a lot of NSAIDs, can make your skin more sensitive to sunlight. Chlorophyllin has its own reputation for causing this kind of light sensitivity too. Put them together and the concern is that those effects could stack up, so you might be a bit more prone to sunburn, rashes, or skin irritation when you're out in bright sun or using a tanning bed.

I want to be honest that this is mostly theoretical and based on limited reports, not hard proof. For most people it won't be a big deal, especially short-term. Just play it smart: use sunscreen, cover up, and limit strong sun exposure. If you notice an unusual rash or burn easily, check in with your pharmacist or doctor.

What Is Flurbiprofen Used For?

Brand names: Ansaid, Flurbiprofen, Froben, Flurprofen, Froben SR, Ocufen

Flurbiprofen tablets (sold as Flurbiprofen and Lurbiro) are used to relieve the pain, swelling, and stiffness of rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis.

Flurbiprofen Sodium eye drops are a separate product used during eye surgery — specifically to keep the pupil from constricting (getting smaller) while the procedure is underway. This use applies only to the ophthalmic (eye drop) form.
