Chlorthalidone falls under PHOTOSENSITIZING DRUGS — the group Chlorophyllin interacts with.

Theoretically, concomitant use of chlorophyllin with photosensitizing drugs may have additive effects.
Chlorophyllin is a semi-synthetic derivative of chlorophyll. Chlorophyll has been reported to cause photosensitization. Orally, chlorophyll has also been associated with the development of pseudoporphyria in multiple case reports.

Here's the thing to know about pairing chlorophyllin with chlorthalidone. This isn't about how your body breaks down the medicine. Instead, both can make your skin more sensitive to sunlight. Chlorthalidone is already known to cause sun sensitivity in some people, and chlorophyllin may add a little to that. So taken together, you could be more likely to get a quick or severe sunburn, redness, or a rash on sun-exposed skin.

To be fair, this is mostly a theoretical concern, and serious reactions are uncommon. You don't need to panic. Just be smart in the sun: use sunscreen, wear a hat, and cover up. If you notice unusual skin reactions, check in with your pharmacist or doctor before changing anything.

The best evidence is for its use as a deodorizing agent, while many popular claims like detoxification and digestive benefits are not well proven. About Chlorthalidone

What Is Chlorthalidone Used For?

Brand names: Hygroton, Thalitone

Chlorthalidone is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) in adults. Lowering blood pressure reduces the risk of serious cardiovascular events, especially strokes and heart attacks. It can be used alone or combined with other blood pressure medicines.

Chlorthalidone is also used as an add-on treatment for edema (fluid buildup) caused by heart failure, liver cirrhosis, and kidney conditions including nephrotic syndrome, acute glomerulonephritis, and chronic renal failure. Thalitone is additionally indicated for edema associated with heart failure, liver cirrhosis, and renal disease including nephrotic syndrome.
